Welcome – I’m Amanda and I’m a 30-something-year-old watercolour enthusiast who has decided it’s finally time to swap years of cheering on other people’s creativity for actually attempting some of my own.
I live with my husband, our two children, and two outrageously opinionated cats in a small Oxfordshire village, where the scenery, wildlife, and wonderfully wonky architecture give me more inspiration than I can ever seem to paint accurately. I adore Christmas, cycling, and travelling, although I’m equally happy curled up with a sketchbook and a cup of tea, trying to figure out why my trees look like broccoli and my buildings lean more than they should.
After twelve years working in a school, guiding young imaginations, I’m now embracing the joy (and mild chaos) of being entirely self-taught. What you’ll find here is honest, imperfect, steadily improving art. Shared in the hope that you’ll enjoy following along as I make discoveries, make progress, and yes, make plenty more mistakes.
